The Lower Minors is for 8 & 9 year old girls and boys. The Lower Minors introduces the idea of player pitching. Parent umpires are introduced at this level. Strike zones are liberal. Players are still rotated among the field positions they can safely play. Players are encouraged to practice before they will be allowed to pitch, catch and play first base. All players are in the batting lineup. Players have equal playing time on the field and off. Score is kept each game, however standings are not kept. End of season tournaments are seeded randomly by pulling names from hat.

Attendance is required for at least 85% of all games and practices for the benefit of the team and to ensure that all players progress together. Coaches will schedule practices at the beginning of the season before games start to get the ball rolling and to educate the fundamentals of baseball. Coaches will continue to practice as needed throughout the season. Player attendance and attitude may affect play time and field positions.

Every attempt will be made to assign players to teams with schoolmates, however as teams fill up players will be assigned to the next team with openings. We will make attempts to place players with at least a couple schoolmates, however our primary purpose is to provide a player with a strong education basis in baseball, not to provide a social experience with schoolmates.
