Upper Minors Division Overview

The Upper Minors is for all 10 year olds and most of the 11 & 12 year olds. Umpires continue at this level. The Upper Minors further reiterates the fundamentals used in the Lower Minors. Game scores are kept, however standings are not kept. Tournaments are seeded randomly by pulling names from a hat.

Players rotate among positions. Coaches are encouraged to rotate players equally. All players participate in the batting order equally. The strike zone is more limited. Attendance is required for at least 85% of all games and practices for the benefit of the team and to ensure that all players progress together. Coaches will schedule practices at the beginning of the season before games start to get the ball rolling and to educate the fundamentals of baseball. Coaches will continue to practice as needed throughout the season. Player attendance and attitude may affect play time and field positions.

Every attempt will be made to assign players to teams with schoolmates, however as teams fill up players will be assigned to the next team with openings. We will make attempts to place players with at least a couple schoolmates, however our primary purpose is to provide a player with a strong education basis in baseball, not to provide a social experience with schoolmates.
