2015 Traveling Baseball - Informational Meeting and Tryouts

9, 10, 11 & 12 YO Players that are currently registered for the 2015 season of BYB are also eligible to play competitive Travel Baseball in addition to league play. This information is also being emailed to all eligible families.

There is a tryout process associated with this division. Once teams are assigned, there will be additional practices held during the season, along with tournament games. Tournaments are normally held over the weekend, but there are some that start or end on weekdays. Each team has a season-ending State Tournament for their age division, and the potential to advance to at least a regional tournament level beyond that.

More detailed information regarding BYB's Travel Baseball program and the tryout process can be found in these two documents:

If your family has not played traveling ball in BYB before, and/or you are not familiar with the experience, we encourage you to review the above links, to see if the program may of interest to your player(s).

If you are interested in learning more about the program, we also invite you to attend an informational parent meeting that will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 3:30 pm - at the Fore Seasons Golf Dome.

BYB Board Representatives will provide an overview, and then there will be time for general Q&A, and time to visit with them individually.

Traveling Team Tryouts will be held on Saturday, March 28th, at the Fore Season Golf Center (Dome) at 2525 North 19th Street in Bismarck. There is a designated time for each age group, and the players will be expected to stay for their entire time slot. Each player will need to pay a $10 Tryout Fee when they check in at tryouts, to cover the cost of the facility rental. Please click on the two links above for the specific details.

2015 11 & 12 Year-Old Tryout Details

ATTENTION Parents of 11 & 12 Year-Old Players: Emails have been sent to all points of contact provided during registration. We have verified that every player had at least one valid email address provided. In addition, the same information was sent to any second parent/guardians, if emails were submitted.

The email contains a letter detailing the 11 & 12 year-old tryout process, including a suggested time for your player(s) to attend the tryouts. As explained in the letter - if you need to attend a different day and/or time, that is fine. You DO NOT need to notify the league ahead of time. Just go at the time that works best for you.

If you have registered a player who will be 11 or 12 on April 30, 2015, and you have not received the email, please contact us, so we can verify the contact information we have on file.

A copy of the letter explaining tryout details is below, as well as a general overview of what takes place during the evaluation:

Division Availability

As of 5:00 pm CST on 3/21, we have the following number of available openings for each of the divisions:

Online Registration Tips (Useful for All Registrants)

ONLINE REGISTRATION TIPS: There are four specific things to know before attempting online registration, which will make the process easier:

  • NGIN ACCOUNT: You will need to be logged into an active SPORT NGIN account to be able to access the registration link. So, before clicking on the link, either log-in to the account you used last year, or create a new account. Either action can be done by clicking on the “Log In” button at the very upper left corner of the BYB web site home page. If you have problems logging in with a previously created NGIN account, please contact NGIN directly for assistance.
  • VOLUNTEER INFO: At least one player guardian will need to agree to volunteer in some capacity within the organization. As such, there is a section within the online registration system where guardian info is requested - including DOB and Driver's License info. Please have that information handy before logging into the system to complete registrations.
  • BIRTH CERTIFICATES: First time players will need to a submit copy of their birth certificate to BYB. An electronic file may be uploaded during registration, or emailed/mailed to the League office - full instructions will be provided within the registration system.
  • CONFIRMATION/RECEIPT EMAIL: Once you have completed your online registration, you will receive a confirmation email that verifies your registration was successfully processed. The email will be sent to the primary address you have associated with your NGIN account. The sender will show up as something similar to “no-reply@www.bismarckyouthbaseball.org“ – and the subject line will be something similar to “Bismarck Youth Baseball Online Store Receipt”. Please check your email (including junk mail box) ASAP after registering, so that you know that your registration was received. It should arrive within a few minutes, but may take up to an hour or so, if there are a lot of registrations coming in at that specific time. NOTE – If you do not receive a confirmation email, you should presume your registration did not go through. You should then send an email to BYB so we can help troubleshoot. Registrations that are not received due to technical issues are just that – not received. Please keep your confirmation email, as it serves as your official proof of registration.
