Bismarck Youth Baseball

Here are a few reminders about weather issues during the season:

• Any cancellation of BYB games due to weather that are made before 5 pm will always be posted on the home page of our league web site. Notices will also be posted on this BYB Facebook page. The notices will specifically say Bismarck Youth Baseball.
• Bismarck Parks & Rec may also cancel their games due to weather, and may post on their respective web site and social media sites. If they do - they will state cancellations are for Parks & Rec Youth Baseball. If they are kind enough to share our cancellation notices on their page, they will be sure to state BYB.
• As we have night games, BYB typically waits as late in the day as possible to cancel, as things can clear up/dry up quickly. P&R has day games - so their cancellations come earlier in the day.

If there is no notice on the home page of this BYB web site, then games will be played -

or they will be called off at the fields.

• If weather moves in while games are being played, it is up to coaches whether or not they call off the current games and/or the late games. Basically, it's a game time decision, made by coaches. Different teams and/or different divisions could make different decisions.
• If early games are called off while being played, it doesn't automatically mean that late games are cancelled.
• The only "all or nothing" rule pertains to lightening: a pause in action due to lightening mandates all games stop for 20 minutes, to allow for a decision to be made.

Our 2013 Registration is closed, as of May 10th. If you are interested in participating in BYB next year, please mark your calendars to check this site in January, for opening date of registration information. We typically open registration the last part of January/first part of February.

Here are the game schedules for all Divisions. Schedules have also been emailed to all coaches for disribution to player families.

• May 28 - Opening Day for T-Ball.
• June 30 - July 6 - Independence Day Break - No League Games
• July 5 -7 - Stars & Strikes Classic

Here is a list of important dates for the 2013 season. These dates have also been entered on the web site calendar.

Q:  When does registration for the 2013 season open?
A:  Registration for the 2013 season will open at 6 pm CST on Monday, January 28, 2013.

Q:  Where do I go to register?
A:  A link will be posted right here, on this web site (www.bismarckyouthbaseball.org). In addition, paper registration forms are available for download/printing form this web site. They can also be picked up at the Bismarck Parks & Rec office on Front Street.

Q:  Who can register?
A:  Bismarck and Burleigh county residents. If you live on the west side of the river you need to register for Mandan's Cal Ripken league.

Q:  What is the minimum / maximum age?
A:  The player must be at least 6 years old and no more than 12 years old as of April 30, 2013.

Q:  How much does it cost?
A:   The league fee for 2013 is $125 - which includes $25 in pre-paid raffle tickets. There is an additional fee for traveling teams.

Q:  Do you accept online payments?
A:  Yes - we accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

Q:  When does registration close?
A:  Registration closes as each of the divsions fill up. Information regarding space available for each division will be regularly posted on this web site.

Q:  When will we find out about division/team placement?
A:  Postcards with division placement will be mailed to all players the first week of April. Players will then be contacted directly by their coaches and/or coordinators after that time, regarding their team placement.
